Tactics are what a manager tells his players to do during a match. The most basic form of tactics is choosing a formation which chooses the players position . A manager can then decide on where a player will run or feed the ball to. The manager can also give instruction to the team on aspects of their game (for example, closing down or passing) as well as tactics to individuals using Team Instructions and Player Instructions. There is also a new set piece creator to create custom set pieces. There is also a powerful tool called Prozone that allows the manager to analyse matches and see tactics being played out so they can work out how to counter the opponent or see where things are going wrong.
